Founded in 2001, the UTech, Ja. Debating and Public Speaking Society has established itself as a cornerstone of the University of Technology, Jamaica's student life. Our organization is dedicated to fostering intellectual growth, critical thinking, and effective communication skills among students.
Over the years, we have consistently proven to be a dominant force in the Jamaican debating landscape. Our commitment to excellence has been recognized with numerous accolades, including JADE Top Debating Society (on multiple occasions) and USU Club/Society of the Year.
Beyond domestic success, we have proudly represented the University of Technology, Jamaica, and Jamaica itself on the global stage. Our participation in prestigious international debating championships such as the World University Debating Championships and PAN-AMS has showcased our exceptional talent and skills.
